Jaipur. In Rajasthan, 9 districts and 3 divisions have been removed by the anti-development BJP government due to political reasons. Rajasthan is the largest state of India in terms of area and hence, former CM Gehlot has received reports from the public without any political benefit with the aim of helping people in local services and considering the poor as Ganesha and providing benefits to even the last person. On the basis of this, new districts and divisions were created. With this change it became easier for people to get the work done as quickly as possible near their home.

Former chief minister Vasundhara Raje had also supported smaller districts during her tenure as chief minister and the creation of Pratapgarh shows that the BJP gives importance to smaller administrative units. The removal of these districts by the present BJP government may create many problems for residents dependent on local services as the distance for people to travel to administrative centers would increase.

Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot not only announced the districts but also appointed all the district level officers including Collector, SP and also gave budget for resources to every district. We strongly condemn the decision taken by the BJP government due to political vendetta and demand to withdraw this short-sighted decision and keep the districts and divisions as

they are.
